Dr. Michael DeCourcey, MD

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist

Dr. Michael DeCourcey is a highly skilled ophthalmologist dedicated to providing exceptional eye care. With extensive experience in refractive surgery—including LASIK and PRK—as well as cataract surgery, Dr. DeCourcey works closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique vision needs. His commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements ensures that patients benefit from the latest innovations in eye care.

Dr. Leslie Scarlett, MD

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist

Hailing from Monroe, Louisiana, Dr. Leslie Scarlett graduated Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University with a degree in Microbiology. She then attended Baylor College of Medicine for her Master's degree, and Medical University of South Carolina for medical school, surgical Internship, and Ophthalmology residency. Dr. Scarlett is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmologists, and has received additional training and certification from the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine, and Oculoplastics training with Dr. Soheila Rostami. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Women in Ophthalmology, American Board of Aesthetic Medicine, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Charleston Ophthalmology Society.

Dr. Ellesse Boiwka, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Ellesse Boiwka is a compassionate optometrist dedicated to enhancing patients' vision and eye health. At Waring Vision Institute, she provides comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens fittings, and she also manages a variety of ocular conditions. Dr. Boiwka is committed to educating patients about their eye health, emphasizing preventative care and personalized treatment plans.

Her approachable demeanor and attentive care reflect the institute's values of "Just Great Service" and teamwork. Dr. Boiwka works closely with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care, contributing to the seamless and supportive experience patients receive at Waring Vision Institute.
